Dr Ling Kiet-Phang

I graduated with Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2004. I have completed my post-graduate training in the Ophthalmology in National University of Malaysia Medical Center (UKMMC) and obtained a Master in Ophthalmology (MD), and Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO) in 2012.

My Award  & Certification

Later, I was awarded a 3-months ICO fellowship in vitreoretina at Duke Eye Center in Durham, NC, United State of America in 2015 before I went on to pursue vitreoretina fellowship in Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Kedah, Malaysia and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Linkou, Taiwan. I obtained my Certificate of Completion of Fellowship Training by the Ministry of Health of Malaysia in 2018.

My Experience

Then, I served as vitreoretinal consultant in Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru. During my service as ophthalmologist in government hospital, I was being awarded Excellent Performance Award from Ministry of Health Malaysia in 2014, 2016 and 2020. Right now, I full time in Oasiseye Specialists Johor Bahru and visiting consultant in both Columbia Asia Hospital Iskandar Puteri and Columbia Asia Hospital Tebrau in Johor.

I have vast experience in managing complex cataract surgery, including advanced cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implantation. My clinical interests are in vitreoretinal diseases including diabetic retinopathy, macular hole, retinal detachment, macular degeneration and retinopathy of prematurity.

Every Run Makes You Stronger

Trail running is my passion, stress relief, exercise and making new friends all in one. Running has taught me that I’m capable of so much more than I ever imagined. Indeed, I completed 100 km ultra-trail run as my toughest challenge in my life.
